PhysioBlogs
I want to thank every Nigerian physiotherapist at home and in Diaspora for the roles played culminating in my election as the NSP President at Calabar ‘2008.
To both in support and opposition, I say a very big ‘Thank You’. In a true democracy both parties are very important and you have all therefore played significant roles. To the elders in the profession, I salute you all. To all those that have held the position before me, I appreciate you and your contributions and sacrifices of the past. To the immediate past Executive Council Members, I say ‘Well done’.
After the Conference I have had opportunity to speak with Messrs Abegunde and Oyewumi and I must commend and appreciate their spirit of sportsmanship. Both of them have extended their warm hands of fellowship and cooperation.
I will like to use this opportunity to solicit for the support of all of us in taking this profession to new and greater heights. I have had to reflect over the agenda presented in our manifesto and I realized that they are all achievable provided we are ‘one’ in their pursuit. There is power/strength in unity.
Next year Conference is so critical being the 50th Anniversary of the NSP. We have commenced discussions concerning the venue and this will be communicated to us as soon as we conclude on the same. The importance of this anniversary poses a challenge to all of us because in the course of the year ahead we have to do something definite and significant about the “Physiotherapy House”. We shall be speaking more on this very soon.
I want to also welcome on board the new Executive Council members to the most challenging tenure of our generation. It is a call to service and sacrifice but I know that the Grace of God shall be more than sufficient for us.
GOOD MORNING GREAT PHYSIOS for it is the DAWNING OF A NEW DAY.
God bless you, and may God Bless the Physiotherapy profession and professionals.
